2013 Passat Lf Door Does Not Lock

Purchased the car new and the issue started at around 42k miles.

2013 passat lf door does not lock.

Door would be unlocked and door could be physically opened using the door handle and then car alarm would go off. This issue also indicates a bad lock actuator. If this happens the problem is with the remote. The 2013 volkswagen passat has 3 problems reported for door lock not working.

Power door locks behave erratically. If the actuators have any sort of internal or wiring issue it may cause them to rapidly lock and unlock unexpectedly or cause them to function intermittently. Driver s door stopped locking or unlocking at all with key fob. About aug 2013 mileage 63 000.

The battery is likely dead and needs to be replaced but the remote s may also need to be reprogrammed to work.
